3 NHL Goal Scorer and Points Props to Back on October 26

Draisaitl's six-game goal streak, McDavid's 13-game point run and Panarin's return to MSG headline tonight's best NHL scoring props.

Monday’s NHL slate is short on volume and long on star power: three games, with two of the league’s most dangerous scorers sharing a rink in Edmonton and a former Ranger returning to Madison Square Garden. The scoring props are where the numbers get interesting tonight.

These three plays lean on usage, power-play access and shaky goaltending rather than hunches. Every number below comes from the current season, and every price is a snapshot, so check your book before you bet.

Leon Draisaitl Anytime Goal Scorer: Six-Game Streak Meets a Bottom-Three Penalty Kill

Draisaitl has scored in six straight games and sits at 12 goals through 11 games, six of them on the power play. He scored twice against Toronto on Saturday, twice against Carolina on Thursday and twice against Minnesota before that, and he is averaging 1.09 goals per game this season. At roughly +100 to +110 for an anytime goal, you are getting plus money on a player scoring more than a goal a night.

The matchup is the real story. Detroit’s penalty kill is running at 65.8%, which ranks 30th in the league, while Edmonton’s power play is converting at 35.1%, second in the NHL. Draisaitl is the trigger man on that unit, and the Red Wings have been shorthanded 3.45 times per game. Detroit’s likely starter, John Gibson, carries an .867 save percentage and a negative goals-saved-above-expected mark, so the path to a goal is wide open.

Edmonton has also cleared 5.5 team goals in five straight games. A shooter with a six-game scoring run, the second-best power play in the league and a leaky opposing goalie is the profile you want at plus money. If you like to check the EV before you bet, this is the cleanest value on the card.

Connor McDavid Over 0.5 Points: The Safest Floor on the Board

McDavid has 33 points in 11 games, built on eight goals and 25 assists, and he has recorded a point in 13 straight games entering Monday. He also has 13 points across his last five meetings with Detroit, all of them assists, so this matchup has historically been a playground for his playmaking.

The price is the catch. His points line has been sitting around -700 at several books, and it closed as short as -770 on Saturday, so this is a play you take for the floor rather than the payout. The line had not been posted when this was written, so wait and shop it. His role is the one that has made him reliable all season: first-unit power play, heavy ice time and a supporting cast of Draisaitl and Bouchard that cashes in on the looks he creates.

Detroit is not built to slow him down with a penalty kill ranked 30th and a goalie who has struggled. Even in a 7-2 loss to Toronto, McDavid found two assists. When the worst recent game still clears the line, the floor is the argument. Treat this as a building block for a parlay or a small straight bet, and use an odds and probability tool to see what a short price demands from your hit rate.

Artemi Panarin Anytime Goal Scorer: Return Trip to Madison Square Garden

Panarin returns to New York for the second time since the Kings acquired him on February 4, and he arrives in form. He has six goals in nine games, one on the power play, along with 29 shots on goal, and he scored twice in Thursday’s 3-2 overtime win over the Islanders. Better than three shots a game is a strong foundation for a goal prop.

Los Angeles has struggled to score, held to one goal in five of its nine games, and the Kings are 2-1-2 when Panarin gets on the scoresheet. When the offense runs through one player, his goal probability is the cleanest way to attach to a low-scoring road team. Books are listing him around +190 to +195 for an anytime goal.

The Rangers’ goaltending situation helps. New York lost Igor Shesterkin for the season, and Dylan Garand has made seven straight starts, allowing 17 goals over his past five games. The Rangers have surrendered 22 goals in their last five contests, so even with a 6-0 home record, the defense has been porous. At nearly 2-to-1 on a high-volume shooter, the price is right.

Lock These In

All three plays follow the same logic: high-volume shooters or creators facing a soft spot in the matchup. Draisaitl is the best value, McDavid is the safest floor and Panarin carries the biggest payout. Prices move, so compare numbers across books before you commit.

  • Leon Draisaitl anytime goal scorer, EDM vs. DET (about +100 to +110)
  • Connor McDavid OVER 0.5 points, EDM vs. DET (heavy juice, around -700; check your book)
  • Artemi Panarin anytime goal scorer, LAK at NYR (about +190 to +195)
