Tennis Friday - Abrams Picks Men’s Quarterfinals Matches at Noventi Open, Federer, Coric; Fever-Tree Championships, Medvedev, Raonic
NOVENTI OPEN
Halle, Germany
Roger Federer over Roberto Bautista Agut
RBA is great. Just not as great as The Fed. Enough said.
Sascha Zverev over David Goffin
It’s been five years since David Goffin beat Sascha Zverev. It won’t be another five years, but it won’t be this day.
Matteo Berrettini over Karen Khachanov
Berrettini is ranked 22nd. Khachanov is No. 9. The rankings are way off.
Borna Coric over Pierre-Hugues Herbert
Borna Coric is ranked No. 14. Pierre-Hugues Herbert is ranked No. 43. The rankings are right on.

FEVER-TREE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Queens Club/London, England
Gilles Simon over Nico Mahut
Simon has beaten Mahut six out of the seven times they’ve played. Normally, I’d go with Mahut, who I think is better on the grass than Simon, but six out of seven don’t lie.
Daniil Medvedev over Diego Schwartzman
Medvedev’s better than Schwartzman, particularly on grass . . . unless they over-water the grass, like they did Thursday. If that happens, anything goes.
Stefanos Tsitsipas over Felix Auger-Aliassime
FA2 just beat Dimitrov and Kyrgios and is playing great. Additionally, he’s beaten Tsitsipas the only time they’ve played, back in February in Indian Wells. So the question is: “Is FA2 the better player right now?” I say “no”. Tsitsipas will even the score just in time for Wimbledon.
Feliciano Lopez over Milos Raonic
The 37-year-old Spaniard has a better all-around game, but more important, he’s beaten the Canadian more than he’s lost, and Raonic hasn’t beaten Lopez since 2015. Additionally, I’m not sure Raonic’s shoulder and entire right arm is well. If Lopez wins, it will be an butt-kicking. If Raonic wins, it will be close.
