It has been a top start for both of the squads in the 2024 campaign. Southampton is seeking their first points in league play, while Man United is coming into this game off of two straight losses.
In three Premier League games so far, Southampton has scored just once with a 95th-minute consolation in a 3-1 defeat to Brentford. It has been a largely disappointing start for United, as they have struggled in recent games.
Man United is the clear favorite in this game as they bring a much more talented roster. However, with both of these teams struggling early, look for both teams to play for the win.
Aston Villa have started their season on a strong foot winning 2 of their first 3 league matches. However, with Champions League play starting up, they will need to handle the stress of both Domestic league and European play.
Fatigue, injuries, and squad rotation will surley play a role in their season. Villa will have to manage its resources wisely if they are planning to compete at the top level across all competitions.
Everton is coming off an all-time disappointing loss at the hands of Bournemouth. Everton dominated the majority of the game, leading 2-0 until the 87th minute when Bournemouth netted their first goal. After that, the game got crazy.
Bournemouth netted two stoppage-time goals to claim a dramatic comeback win, with Luis Sinisterra sealing the three points in the 96th minute. There will be a lot at stake in this matchup, with Villa looking to stay afloat in the league table and Everton seeking some redemption for a brutal loss.
This bitter rivalry known as the “North London Derby” is the marquee match-up of the week for the Premier League. Arsenal has been unbeaten in the last four matchups between these two teams, and with championship aspirations, they will look to keep that streak alive.
Tottenham has not won this matchup since 2022, and with aspirations of their own, they are certainly looking for a win. Tottenham have been impressive at home recently, winning seven of their last ten at Hotspur Stadium.
However, Arsenal had the second-best road record last season, behind only the league champion Manchester City. If this game turns out anything like the last match-up, this will be a fun game with a ton of action.
Arsenal edged out Spurs 3-2 in an exciting game on the road in their last meeting. Be sure to tune in for this fiery matchup on Sunday morning.
