UEFA EURO 2020 Quarterfinals kick off Friday with two games, including tie of the round
In knockout football, the further you go, the better the games usually are.
Most of the time, it is because the better teams advance.
But at the UEFA EURO 2020 tournament, that might not be the case. France, Portugal, and Netherlands all fell in the Round of 16: due to bad coaching, squad implosions, and breakdowns on the pitch.
That means there are some teams playing this weekend that were definitely not picked to be this far, and that are now a win away from the semifinals.
Friday, Spain will take on a Switzerland team that was ripped apart by France for much of the game Monday. The Spanish themselves scored five against Croatia, and could fancy playing an open team.
The second game Friday should be the tie of the round, with Belgium taking on Italy. Eden Hazard is probably out for Belgium, while Kevin de Bruyne is going to be a late decision.
If that duo does not play, I really like Italy. If de Bruyne is in the lineup, then I would have to reassess my wager. Make sure you check the lineups an hour before the match.
