Door is open for Liverpool to make top four after Leicester City loss Tuesday
What a few days it has been for Liverpool.
The Reds were saved at the death on the weekend by Alisson’s header, and then watched as Chelsea paved the way for a top four finish with a 2-1 win over Leicester City.
Now, all Liverpool has to do is win out, and it should finish the season in the top four, and get UEFA Champions League football next season.
Standing in their way Wednesday is 16th place Burnley, which is already safe, but might relish ruining Liverpool’s season.
I don’t see it that way, though: Liverpool was let off the hook Sunday, and now has the chance to make up for a terrible campaign with two wins.
My gut says this game is a blitz by the visitors, and could end up as a 4-0 contest.
I also think West Ham United wins, as it tries to lock up European football for 2021-22.
