Will Manchester United’s trip to Granada be another step down Coronation Street towards the UEFA Europa League crown?
While the eyes of the world over the last two days were focused on the UEFA Champions League and its fantastic matches (the PSG vs Bayern Munich game was some high level action), the Europa League takes center stage Thursday with four intriguing quarterfinal first leg games that could shake up the tournament.
Everyone is expecting Manchester United and Arsenal to meet in Gdansk next month, but there are a lot of minutes to play before we get close to that Premier League battle.
Slavia Praha, when its players and fans are not (allegedly) racially abusing opponents, play some good football, and could give Arsenal all kinds of problems. Remember, the Czech side has already knocked out Leicester City and Rangers.
On the same side of the draw, the Yellow Submarine looks to take out Dinamo Zagreb, as Villareal heads on the road as a favorite.
On the other side of the draw, Ajax will host Roma, with both teams nursing some defenders; it could be a high-scoring affair.
Finally, Manchester United will hope this trip to Granada sets the Red Devils up for an easy second leg next Thursday, on the way to a second Europa League title since the start of 2017.
