When the four UEFA Champions League quarterfinal matchups were set last month, there was one that immediately stuck out, if the two teams were able to finish off their Round-of-16 opponents.
Bayern Munich vs. Barcelona
The two teams with European pedigree are set for an epic showdown Friday, in the BallStreet Trading/Bettors Insider Match of the Week.
The last couple collaborations between the two brands have been big, but this promises to be huge. While Bayern Munich is the current betting favorite to lift the European Cup next Sunday, there is also the chance of a Lionel Messi masterclass, and him dragging an underachieving side to a semifinal against Pep Guardiola and Manchester City. It should make the trading on BallStreet very interesting pre-game (the match is currently live) and during the contest.
As for the betting side, my thoughts are that one of Bayern, Manchester City, or PSG will win the cup (going out on a limb there, I know.) I just do not see Barcelona being able to keep up with Bayern Munich’s attack. Robert Lewandowski was probably robbed of the Ballon d’Or (although there is hope it is reinstated). He has 53 goals this year so far, with 13 coming in seven Champions League games.
Lewandowski is going to get at least one goal; in fact, he may get two, like he did in four of the other Champions League games this season.
Either Bayern Munich or Manchester City is the best team in the world, and you will struggle to get this team at better odds than are being offered today.
Just hope they are not rusty.
