Brentford can move into automatic promotion spot with win Saturday, while Wigan can stave off relegation
Who is the hottest team in England right now?
That would be the Brentford Bees, who come into Saturday as winners of eight straight games, seven of which have come after the COVID-19 break. With a ninth win on the bounce today over Stoke City, Brentford would move ahead of West Bromwich Albion into second place, with just one match left. Second place will join Leeds United in the Premier League next season.
At the other end, Wigan Athletic won 8-0 last week over Hull City, which is significant due to the pending 12-point penalty that may or may not be hanging over Wigan’s head. But a big win Saturday will all but mean the Latics are safe in the Championship for another year.
Look for Fulham to also win, and keep its chances of catching West Brom alive for another week.
