There is an argument to be made the the England Championship is the most competitive, exciting league in the world.

The top two teams at the end of 46 matches will head into next season's Premier League, while the third through sixth place teams will battle it out for one final spot in the richest league in the world.

Coming into Tuesday, six points separated first through fifth, and just two points between second and fifth. Preston North End sat in sixth place on goal difference over Bristol City, with teams all the way down to 12th within six points.

Which teams are the current favorites for promotion? West Bromwich Albion leads the way in the table (59 points) and the odds (-300), with Leeds United second (55, -250). But as the song goes, "Leeds. Leeds are falling apart again."

The better promotion odds play might be Fulham (55 points, +150), Nottingham Forest (54 points, +300), or Brentford (53 points, +550).
