Soccer Sunday - Miller Picks UEFA Nations League, Women’s World Cup, FIFA International Friendly, England, Portugal, Netherlands, Italy

PORTO, PORTUGAL − What a day to be a fan of the beautiful game.

While the Women's World Cup throws up three first match day fixtures, the inaugural UEFA Nations League Playoff will crown its first winner of the tournament Sunday night at the Estadio Dragao in Porto.

The Netherlands had to work an extra 30 minutes Thursday night in Guimaraes, after a late VAR decision went in the Dutch team's favor. But they ended up pulling out a 3-1 win over England to stop football from coming home.

Where the title may go is to the home side Portugal, which got a hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo Wednesday night, including two in the final four minutes of regulation, to beat Switzerland, 3-1.

You would expect the Portuguese side to be the more fresher of the two sides, after an extra 24 hours of rest. Can the Netherlands defense shut down Ronaldo, and the rest of the talented attacking players, of the host team?

Which team will be able to lift the cup?

At the WWC, there will be a border war, with England taking on Scotland in the final match of the day. The English side is one of the teams that could make a deep run in the tournament, and will want to make a statement Sunday.

The top women's match of the day is from Group C, as Italy and Australia should battle for top spot in the group. But the Australians are favored, and should take care of business.
