Soccer: UEFA Champions League action is back! Miller picks Liverpool v Porto & Tottenham v Manchester City + EFL Championship game
LIVERPOOL, UK – The wait for UEFA Champions League action is over Tuesday.
Three of the four English teams left in the competition will be in action, with Tottenham hosting Manchester City, and Liverpool hosting Porto.
The Citizens come into the game against their Premier League rivals in much better form, at 22-1-1 since December 30. Tottenham is the opposite, with just two wins from its last eight. Manchester City has won three straight against the Spurs, inclusion the last two matches in London in 2018.
Liverpool is a heavy favorite to all but end the tie tonight with its Portuguese foe. Porto has been playing well, and beat Roma in the round of 16 to advance to this stage.
But the attack of Liverpool might be too much for its opponent, who will probably have to get at least one goal to stay in the two-legged tie.
In the EFL Championship, Leeds United blew its chance to stay in the automatic promotion spots last time out with a shock 1-0 loss away to Birmingham City. With second place Sheffield United making that same trip to Birmingham Wednesday, Leeds will have a chance to jump back into second with a win over Preston North End Tuesday. Leeds can not let this one slip, and should find a way past 10th place Preston.
Preston beat Leeds 2-0 in August, and the two teams have been evenly matched head-to-head.
