Soccer: Last day of Euro 2020 quals - 7 picks & 4 from friendlies

Tuesday brings the last day of UEFA Euro 2020 qualification until the summer, and bettors will be sad to see the matches go, after a 13-2 Monday following a 9-1 Thursday.

The slate of qualifiers shows just eight games, but there are also a couple friendly contests that should pique some interest.

Liechtenstein (181) and Malta (182) are two of the lowest ranked FIFA teams in the world. They will be going against two of the European heavyweights Tuesday, in what seems like impossible contests.

Italy will host Liechtenstein, with Italy favored at -15000 odds. Spain will travel to Malta, with slightly better betting odds of -5000. Depending on the lineups, and how ruthless the players want to be, these two games could get ugly.

The Republic of Ireland side struggled last time out to a 1-0 win over Gibraltar but gets a home contest Tuesday against Georgia. Ireland has won six of seven against Georgia, but the last time the two sides played in 2017 was a 1-1 draw in Georgia.

Romania sits in 25th spot in the FIFA rankings, and gets 97th ranked Faroe Islands. The island country has not fared well of late, while Romania just had an 11-match unbeaten run snapped Saturday in a 2-1 loss to World Cup participant Sweden. Expect Romania to start a new streak here.

In two friendly matches, Brazil will travel to take on the Czech Republic, while the Ivory Coast will host Liberia. Both favorites, Brazil and the Ivory Coast, are about the same price (-300, -286), and should be able to come out on top. Liberia is ranked 150th in the FIFA rankings, while Cote d’Ivoire sits in 66th. Brazil sits in the third spot, while the Czech Republic is 44th.

These will be the last international matches until June 3-11, when the inaugural Nations League will take place. So take advantage of the matches while you can, before the return of club football this weekend.
