Thursday night brings an action-packed NHL slate, and we’ve got some of the best player prop bets to watch for across multiple matchups.
Whether it’s the goals, the assists, or even the total shots, we’ve found 5 strong picks based on recent form and what these players are expecting to produce.
Player Prop Odds: +115
Alex DeBrincat has been a fairly steady playmaker for the Red Wings this season. He’s registered 15 assists so far and it doesn’t look like he’s slowing down.
He tallied at least one assist in 4 of his last 6 games which includes assists against solid defensive teams like the Kings and Flames. He’s on absolute fire as of late.
The Islanders' penalty kill is still struggling as they’re ranking 29th in the NHL (67.5%). With Detroit leading the NHL and converting on 32% of their power plays, DeBrincat’s ability to find teammates in scoring positions makes this prop an excellent value at plus money. There’s no way he will not be on the ice for any power play opportunities.
Player Prop Odds: -110
Brady Tkachuk leads the Ottawa Senators in offensive activity, averaging just over 4.4 SOG per game this season. He’s cleared the 3.5 shots line in 7 of his last 9 games and we think he should see ample opportunities against a Vegas defense that’s allowing a whopping 33 shots per game over its last 5 games.
With Tkachuk playing on the top line for the Sens and logging some heavy minutes on the ice, he’ll be firing away all night.
Player Prop Odds: -125
While Jack Eichel has been a huge piece for the Golden Knights with 28 points on the season, his goal-scoring pace has slowed down a bit recently. He has just a single goal in his last 5 games, and now he faces an Ottawa whose defense has been surprisingly effective at neutralizing top scorers like Eichel despite their overall struggles.
Given Eichel’s focus on big playmaking — he leads Vegas with 23 assists — this is a spot where we think the UNDER on his goal total is a smart play. We just don’t see him finding the back of the net.
Player Prop Odds: -135
Mathew Barzal is heating up at the right time offensively, with points in 4 of his last 6 games.
Historically, he’s dominated at Little Caesars Arena. He’s recorded at least 1 point in his previous 6-night games there against the Wings.
Detroit’s defense, allowing a staggering 3.33 goals per game, has shown quite a few vulnerabilities, especially on the PK (66.7%).
With Barzal leading the charge for the Islanders’ power play unit, he’s definitely going to extend his point streak in this matchup.
Player Prop Odds: +145
Sam Reinhart is on a tear for the Florida Panthers. He’s leading the team with 14 goals on the season and is smoking hot right now.
He’s been particularly lethal against weaker defenses, and the Blackhawks qualify as such. They’ve allowed a hefty 3.1 goals per game while ranking 31st in offensive production (2.32 goals per game).
With Chicago’s defense overmatched and Reinhart generating upwards of 3.5 shots per game, throwing him on your bet slip to find the back of the net at plus money is a no-brainer we’ll take all day long.
These player props offer a mix of smart faves and some decent value plays for Thursday night hockey.
Look for Brady Tkachuk to lead the shooting charge and lock in some SOGs, Alex DeBrincat to set up at least one scoring play, and Sam Reinhart to light the lamp against a struggling Blackhawks defense. Sprinkle in bets on Eichel’s Under and Barzal’s points, and you’ve got a well-rounded ticket to ride through tonight’s NHL action. Tonight’s action is the perfect time for some NHL betting opportunities.
