As the season winds down, it gets harder to predict the outcomes of these games since teams clinch a playoff berth and sometimes sit their star players so they can rest up for a long playoff run. The Avalanche can clinch tonight with a win, an overtime loss, or a Coyotes loss; we think they will take matters into their own hands and steamroll the Jets, even though Winnipeg is trying to maintain first in the division. They need to win out and hope for the Avalanche to lose out without picking up any extra points in OT. The Golden Knights are locked into third place an we think they could take it easy tonight. Look for a low scoring game on that front… The Islanders can still make the push for first in the Metro if they win out and the Capitals lose out, so we think they will take advantage of their matchup against the Panthers tonight to help their cause… Lastly, the Leafs and their shoddy defense will take on the powerhouse Lightning who have been lighting the lamp at excess all season.
