Javonte Williams, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens Headline 3 Skill-Position Props to Back for Buccaneers vs Cowboys on Thursday Night Football

Three analytics-backed rushing and receiving props for Cowboys vs. Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football, with Antoine Winfield Jr. sidelined and Dallas a heavy home favorite.

Thursday Night Football rolls into AT&T Stadium with the Dallas Cowboys (2-2) hosting the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-4), and while the point spread says blowout — Dallas is a -9.5 favorite on most boards, with some books pushing the Cowboys’ moneyline all the way to -550 — the number that actually matters for prop bettors is buried in the matchup data. Tampa Bay’s defense isn’t just good, it’s elite in specific, exploitable ways, and this Cowboys offense is about to run right at the one area where the Bucs have a real crack.

Dallas is rolling with the NFL’s second-highest-scoring offense and just put up 34 on Houston behind a career day from CeeDee Lamb and a three-touchdown game from Javonte Williams. The total sits at 47.5-48, and with Tampa Bay also missing Baker Mayfield and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. for this one, the skill-position volume projects to flow heavily through Dallas’s top three weapons. Bettors looking to shop these numbers against the DraftKings promo code lines should find plenty of value before kickoff. Here are three analytics-backed props to target.

Javonte Williams OVER 72.5 Rushing Yards

On paper, this looks like the toughest matchup on the board. Tampa Bay ranks second in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game (76.0) and yards allowed per carry (3.12), and their average of just 1.73 yards after contact allowed is the stingiest figure of any defense this season. That’s the argument for the under. But Williams has been anything but an ordinary back through four weeks — he’s averaging 2.7 yards after contact himself, posted a 98-yard game against Baltimore just two weeks ago, and is fresh off 62 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries in Houston. He’s handling true lead-back volume (62 carries through four games, 19 in back-to-back weeks) in an offense that leans on him near the goal line — his 16 carries inside the 5-yard line last season ranked fifth among all backs.

At 17.5 attempts, Williams has hit that number in each of his last two outings (19 and 19 carries). Volume alone gets him into range of 72.5 yards even against a stout front, and if Dallas controls the game script as the heavy favorite, the carries should keep coming in the second half. The anytime touchdown prop adds extra value here too — Williams is priced around -200/-210, but with Dallas’s red-zone efficiency sitting at 81.2% (second-best in this matchup) and Williams already up to five rushing scores on the season, that’s a near-lock role, and the best first-touchdown-scorer number at +375/+360 is worth a look as a value add.

CeeDee Lamb OVER 79.5-80.5 Receiving Yards

Lamb just authored one of the most absurd stat lines in modern NFL history: 17 catches on 21 targets for 189 yards and the game-winning touchdown against Houston, making him just the fourth player ever with 17-plus catches, 185-plus yards and a touchdown in a single game. That’s not an outlier performance in a vacuum, either — Lamb has now cleared 110 receiving yards in three straight games (153 vs. Washington, 112 vs. Baltimore, 189 vs. Houston) and is commanding a 30.5% target share from Dak Prescott through four weeks, the clearest signal of true alpha-receiver usage in the league right now.

The matchup tilts even further in his favor with Antoine Winfield Jr. ruled out Thursday — Tampa Bay’s best coverage defender and the engine of their secondary is sidelined with a rib fracture that could keep him out up to a month. Tampa Bay also allows 7.8 yards per attempt through the air, a defense getting picked apart downfield even with Winfield healthy. With Dallas playing from ahead as a near double-digit favorite and Prescott throwing at a 122.7 opponent passer rating against this unit, the receptions line (6.5) and yardage number (79.5-80.5) both sit well below where Lamb has been living all season.

George Pickens OVER 60.5-62.5 Receiving Yards

Pickens hasn’t put up Lamb’s numbers, but the profile here is about where the coverage attention goes, not raw target share. With Lamb drawing the opposing secondary’s top matchup on every snap and Winfield now out of the lineup, the middle of the field and the boundary both open up for Dallas’s No. 2 receiver. Pickens flashed exactly that kind of explosive upside two weeks ago with a 164-yard outing against Baltimore (14 catches on 22 targets) before a quieter two-catch, 75-yard game in Houston that still featured a 53-yard connection — the long ball remains very much live.

Pickens has cleared his longest-reception prop in 7 of his last 8 home games, a trend that plays right into a Dallas offense expected to push tempo and attack vertically against a Tampa Bay unit allowing elevated completion rates on intermediate and boundary routes with Winfield sidelined. The anytime touchdown prop at +130 is intriguing value too — Pickens is still searching for his first score of the season, but a plus-money number against a banged-up secondary in a get-right spot is a reasonable speculative add alongside the yardage play.

Prediction and Best Bets

Dallas’s offense should have every advantage it needs Thursday night — a Tampa Bay team playing short-handed at quarterback and now without its best defensive back, on a short week, on the road. The volume and matchup data line up squarely behind the Cowboys’ top three skill players.

  • Javonte Williams OVER 72.5 Rushing Yards (-115/-115)
  • CeeDee Lamb OVER 79.5-80.5 Receiving Yards (-110/-113)
  • George Pickens OVER 60.5-62.5 Receiving Yards (-113/-115)

Lean into the volume: all three Cowboys skill-position players project for outsized workloads against a Tampa Bay team that’s one score away from 0-5, and the receiving props in particular look undervalued with Winfield sidelined.
