For the first game, this is going to be a challenge. Buffalo has been among the best teams in the league behind Josh Allen and James Cook. Even losing their number 1 receiver, Stefon Diggs, doesn’t mean this team will be weaker. They have an elite offense that will press the weaker Cardinals defense. It doesn’t mean that the Cards will be a push over, either. Adding one of the most anticipated receivers in the draft will give Kyler plenty of opportunities to make big plays. This offense has legs, with James Conner, Trey McBride, and Michael Wilson rounding out the team! They'll have plenty of options to attack a Bills team with a new set of faces in the secondary.
The difference maker in this game is the Bills home-field advantage. With a cloudy, mid-60s degree day on the weather forecast, it will be perfect football weather. Hopefully, this will allow both sides to air the ball out and lead to a high-scoring matchup. We’d still take Buffalo overall to win this opener, but with the new-look Cards, nothing is out of the question for this offense!
For a team that won 4 games last year, to be under a touchdown on the spread isn’t too bad. With Kyler healthy, it’s not wild to think the Cards' offense will be able to hold this below a touchdown. At -109, it feels like good value. If you place your $20 bet on it you’ll get $38.40 if they pull it off. It's not too bad, plus you’ll still earn the $100 bonus regardless.
As the lead back, this one feels like a no-brainer at plus money. If the Cardinals can move the ball downfield at all during this game, Conner will probably have an opportunity to punch it into the end zone. Considering it’s the beginning of the season, and Conner won't be banged up yet, he’ll also have plenty of spark off the line. Hitting this bet with your $20s would land you at $42.80. This does feel like a high market for a team relying heavily on a rookie wide receiver, but it’s doable. Especially for plus odds like this, the juice is there on this line. This game could quickly devolve into a shoot-out. With the Bills aging defense and personnel changes, they could be significantly weaker this year. Losing safeties Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, and cornerback Tre’Davious White, it may take some time for this defense to readjust, leaving the door open for the Cards to attack the secondary. Three touchdowns could be well within the window for the Cards.
This might be our favorite line of the night on this game! Even though Kyler has backed off on the rushing, he still has it in his pocket. With Marvin Harrison Jr, hopefully, another elite weapon on the outside to draw the defense out, 30 yards of rushing seems doable. Besides last year, Kyler averaged about 30 or more for his entire career. He’ll only need a couple of big plays to hit this mark.
