WEEK 15 RECORD: 2-2

WEEK 16

(picks in CAPS)

SATURDAY

HOUSTON -3 at Tampa Bay

Bucs have come on like a house on fire the last four weeks but important to note that three of those wins came against fading Jags and Colts and putrid Lions. Jameis Winston’s two top WRs are out and so is starting S Jordan Whitehead, so look for Texans to take advantage ahead of next week’s showdown with Tennessee.

SUNDAY

Baltimore -10 at CLEVELAND

Was leaning toward Baltimore for the obvious reasons - they’re the better team, they have revenge motivation from earlier humbling by the Browns, they are eyeing home-field throughout the playoffs – but can’t overlook that Browns handled them in September when they were 1-2 and not playing particularly well. They also legitimately don’t like the Ravens. I don’t see a big enough talent disparity to justify laying this big number on the road against a division foe. Even with last week’s big faves bringing back the cash, chalk laying 8 or more is still below .500 (7-9-1) in last five weeks.

Jacksonville +7 at ATLANTA

Might as well stay with Falcons team on hot streak (5-2 ATS last 7) against Jags team in turmoil both in the locker room and in the front office that may have spent itself in last week’s win at Oakland.

Detroit +7 at DENVER

Similarly, hard to back Detroit team that has lost 10 of 11 and is on 1-8 ATS run. Take away two brutal last-second defeats among 4 losses to start season and Broncs would be knocking on the door for a wild-card berth. Figure they make up for last week’s humiliation in the snow at KC and tame toothless Lions.

New York Giants -3 at WASHINGTON

‘Skins have covered 3 of last 4 but mainly want revenge for embarrassing 24-3 trouncing at MetLife Stadium in Week 4. Haskins has progressed steadily and should handle Giants here. Meanwhile, Big Blue got to send Eli out in style so now it’s back to Daniel Jones, who led the team to 0-8 record after win over Washington.
