And now for the pro stuff, which I hope will do better than the two college teasers we threw out there. I’ve heard it sometimes happens.

Three-team teaser:

Eagles (-.5) over Giants, with Texans (-.5) over Broncos and Browns (+2) over Bengals

As with all these kind of teasers, I’m just looking for wins. Last week that’s all I thought I needed out of the Eagles and it got me mushed. But I’ll try again. If they can’t win this week, after what went down last week in Miami, then they should just give up. Broncs play a bunch of tight games, but the Texans are the better team and are home. The Browns could probably lose to anybody, and the Bengals are riding a win streak for the first time this year, but I have to believe Cleveland can at least get past this division rival. All I can do is hope logic prevails.

Falcons (-3.5) over Panthers

Mostly a hunch, but the Panthers just lost their coach and are on the road. And the Falcons have shown a little life lately. Maybe the combination is enough to get a cover here.

Dolphins (+5.5) over Jets

Fish have already beaten the Jets in Miami. And of course last week they beat the Birds, also down there. Jets burned me last week, after two wins. I just think the 5.5 might be a bit too much in this spot.

Steelers (-1.5) over Cardinals

The Steelers are somehow making a run at the playoffs, despite their quarterback issues. I’ve actually liked the way the Cards have tried this year with a first-year coach and QB, but I have to think Pitt and Mike Tomlin will find a way to get another W and stay in the postseason picture.

Buccaneers (-3) over Colts

Bucs are warming up, Colts have cooled off. Of course Jameis Winston could always throw two or three picks and mess this up. I’m hoping the home field is enough to make the difference, because I like both coaches.

Chiefs (+3) over Patriots

I realize that going against the Pats can be hazardous to your bankroll, especially when they look vulnerable. But they haven’t really looked like the Pats lately. And Andy Reid needs a W, after losing to the Pats in an overtime shootout in last year’s AFC title game. Maybe he comes up big here.

Chargers (-3) over Jaguars

I know the Chargers find more ways to lose close games than anyone, which means giving the points is a risky proposition. But I don’t know what to make of the Jags anymore, and I just think Phil Rivers might have a few more left in him and this could be one of them.

Rams (-1) over Seahawks

Maybe I’m overreacting to what the Rams did last week, and the Seahawks are really good. But I think one of LA’s teams will find a way to stay somewhat in the playoff conversation. If they lose this that’s pretty much their season, if it isn’t too late to save it already.

Saints (-2.5) over 49ers

You have to like any team that can go into Baltimore and almost win. But now the Niners have to go to New Orleans, which is looking to get the homefield advantage in the NFC too. And Drew Brees is usually a solid bet in the Superdome. He’ll have to do it against a tremendous defense, but the Saints can play some D too.
