WEEK 5 RECORD: 1-3
WEEK 6
(picks in CAPS)
CAROLINA -2 at Tampa Bay
Love the way Panthers have been using Christian McCaffery, and they should rack up the points against a Tampa Bay defense that has allowed 35 ppg in last three outings. I’m a sucker for divisional revenge games, and even though this one is 3,000 miles away I like Carolina squad on three-game roll to take care of business.
CINCINNATI +11½ at Baltimore
Line seems high for divisional game even given Cincy’s struggles. Bengals are 5-3 SU vs. Ravens in last 8 and own 2 wins and 2 respectable losses (-3 and -5) in Baltimore. Since 59-10 thrashing of Miami in opener, Baltimore has been outscored 113-102 and is fortunate not to be 2-3 after last week’s escape at Pittsburgh.
Seattle -1½ at CLEVELAND
This is a hunch play, and it goes against the numbers (Seahawks 7-1 ATS last 8 on road, for one). But something has to get these Brownies motivated (aside from the fact I’ve been making hay picking against them this season), and if last week’s putrid loss at San Francisco doesn’t do the trick I’m burning my Brian Sipe jersey. Plus the division race is shaping into a two-team affair, and Cleveland already has a win at Baltimore.
Washington -3½ at MIAMI
This line dropped by almost half as folks began realizing just how bad the Redskins really are. Both teams have had brutal schedules against '18 playoff teams -- Dolphins have lost to Ravens, Patriots, Cowboys and Chargers, ‘Skins have lost to Eagles, Cowboys, Bears and Patriots. Outlier is Washington’s brutal performance in 27-3 drubbing by mediocre Giants. In the Tank Bowl, Fish will swim to win.
