SiGMA’s First North America Conference Set for Mexico City in September
SiGMA is bringing its first full-scale North America conference to Mexico City this September, betting on the city's position as a bridge between U.S. and Latin American gaming markets.

SiGMA is expanding into North America with its first full-scale regional conference, set to bring together operators, suppliers, regulators, and investors in Mexico City from September 1-3. The event, SiGMA North America, marks a significant push by the global gaming events company into a market it sees as a critical bridge between North and Latin America.
SiGMA already runs major gambling industry gatherings across Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and Eurasia, but this is the company’s first dedicated conference for the North American region. The choice of Mexico City as host city was deliberate, according to organizers, given its position connecting Spanish-speaking Latin American markets with the United States and Canada.
Why Mexico City
“We deliberately chose Mexico City because it sits at the crossroads of North and Latin America,” said SiGMA Senior Sales Manager LATAM Juan Manuel Rodriguez. “While Spanish-speaking markets are certainly a major focus, the vision is much broader. We see Mexico as a gateway that naturally connects operators, suppliers, affiliates, regulators, investors, and technology providers from across the Americas.”
Mexico City is home to 96 casinos and a growing igaming sector, making it a natural hub for the conference’s dual focus on igaming and brick-and-mortar gambling. Rodriguez noted that companies increasingly view the broader region as interconnected rather than a collection of isolated markets. “They are looking at cross-border opportunities, and Mexico provides the ideal meeting point for those conversations,” he said. “Our goal is to create a platform where businesses from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and Latin America can meet under one roof and build meaningful partnerships.”
Following a South American Debut
SiGMA North America follows the company’s BiS SiGMA South America event, held in São Paulo, Brazil, in April. That event centered on the Portuguese-speaking Brazilian market, while the Mexico City conference is designed with a wider regional scope in mind. Rodriguez said organizers expect stronger participation from North America, Central America, the Caribbean, and Spanish-speaking Latin America, along with European and global companies looking to establish or grow a presence in the region.
The agenda will reflect that diversity, covering regulation, payments, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, affiliate marketing, emerging technologies, investment opportunities, and market expansion strategies. Igaming will get particular attention as a growth driver across the Americas, with Rodriguez describing the sector as “developing at its pace and under different regulatory frameworks” market by market.
Who’s Expected to Attend
Organizers anticipate strong turnout from Mexico, Central America, and South America, along with U.S.-based companies already serving or planning to enter Latin American markets. Cities like Miami, along with attendees from California and Arizona, are expected to be well represented given their commercial ties to Latin America.
“The objective is to create an environment where decision-makers from across the Americas can network efficiently, exchange ideas, and establish partnerships that extend well beyond national borders,” Rodriguez said.
A Region in Flux
The timing lines up with a period of rapid change across gambling markets in the Americas. In the United States, legal online sports betting and igaming continue to expand state by state, with regulators in different jurisdictions taking markedly different approaches to licensing, taxation, and product availability. Latin American markets are moving through their own regulatory evolutions, with countries like Brazil and Mexico developing frameworks at different speeds and with different priorities than their northern neighbors.
That patchwork is exactly what SiGMA North America is positioning itself to address. Rather than treating the hemisphere as a single market, organizers are betting that operators, suppliers, and investors need a shared space to compare regulatory approaches, discuss payment infrastructure, and identify where cross-border opportunities actually exist. Artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, both increasingly central to how gaming companies operate and protect customer data, are also on the agenda, reflecting how quickly the operational side of the industry is evolving alongside the regulatory one.
As legal sports betting and igaming markets continue to mature across different jurisdictions in the Americas, conferences like SiGMA North America give operators and suppliers a chance to compare notes on regulation and growth strategy heading into the next several years. For an industry that has historically organized its biggest events around Europe and Asia, a dedicated North America gathering rooted in Mexico City signals how much weight the Americas now carry in the global conversation around igaming and casino expansion.
