Banijay Gaming has named Antoine Jouteau as its next Chief Executive Officer, putting a two-decade tech and e-commerce veteran in charge of one of Europe’s largest sports betting groups. Jouteau will take over on September 1, 2026, stepping into a role that spans Betclic, Tipico, and Admiral, three brands that now sit under a single ownership structure following a run of major acquisitions this year.

The appointment lands at a pivotal moment for Banijay Gaming. The company completed its combination with Tipico Group in April 2026, a deal that merged the German operator with French betting brand Betclic and pushed the combined group into a leading sports betting position across Continental Europe. Banijay Gaming has also agreed to acquire JOA, France’s second-largest land-based casino operator, in a transaction expected to close in the second half of 2026.

A Tech Executive Takes the Wheel

Jouteau brings more than 20 years of experience scaling and transforming technology companies rather than a traditional gambling industry background. He spent over a decade at French classifieds site Leboncoin, rising from a business development role in 2009 to CEO in 2015. He later served as CEO of Adevinta, the Norwegian parent company behind Leboncoin and other European classifieds brands including Mobile.de and Kleinanzeigen, before returning to lead Leboncoin again in 2024.

Banijay Gaming pointed to that background explicitly in announcing the hire, citing Jouteau’s “strong business and execution mindset” along with his “deep expertise in technology, particularly in data and artificial intelligence” as key reasons for the appointment. As CEO, he will be responsible for setting Banijay Gaming’s overall strategy, balancing organic growth with further acquisitions, and building an operating model that reflects the group’s expanded scale across Betclic, Tipico, and Admiral.

Leadership Shuffle Amid Rapid Expansion

Nicolas Beraud, who founded Betclic and served as its CEO from 2016 to 2025, had been serving as interim CEO of Banijay Gaming pending this hire. He will now step back into a non-executive role as Chairman of the Banijay Gaming board. Joachim Baca, the former Tipico CEO, continues as Vice-Chairman.

The management shakeup follows a stretch of aggressive dealmaking. Banijay Group’s completion of the Tipico acquisition in April created what the company called the fourth-largest European sports betting and gaming operator by revenue, with leading positions across six markets including Germany, France, Portugal, Austria, Poland, and Cote d’Ivoire. The subsequent JOA agreement, a deal valuing the French casino chain’s 33 venues and roughly 430 million euros in annual gross revenue, is designed to extend Banijay Gaming’s digital strength into brick-and-mortar territory.

Jouteau’s priorities once he takes over will reportedly include accelerating growth across Banijay Gaming’s existing regulated markets, increasing market share, and strengthening the customer experience across the newly combined Betclic, Tipico, and Admiral portfolio. For a company that has more than doubled in size through acquisitions in a matter of months, integrating that growth into a coherent operating model will be the first major test of his tenure. Bettors following sportsbooks in Europe’s evolving regulated markets will be watching closely to see how the combined group’s strategy takes shape under new leadership.
