Polymarket Named Exclusive U.S. Prediction Market Partner of Serie A in Third Major Soccer Deal of 2026
Polymarket has struck a multiyear exclusive prediction market partnership with Italy's Serie A in the U.S., adding to existing deals with MLS and La Liga.

Polymarket announced a multiyear exclusive partnership with Italy’s Serie A on Thursday, May 14, naming the platform the official and exclusive prediction market for Serie A in the United States. The deal marks Polymarket’s third major soccer league agreement of 2026, following earlier partnerships with Major League Soccer and Spain’s La Liga.
Under the agreement, Polymarket will serve as the exclusive U.S. platform for Serie A prediction markets and will receive brand integrations across the league’s U.S. digital and media channels. Data services will be powered by official Serie A data, with Genius Sports providing integrity monitoring as part of the arrangement.
The Details of the Partnership
The Serie A deal gives Polymarket access to official league data and permits the use of Serie A logos and marks on its platform. It also establishes brand visibility across the league’s digital properties in the American market, providing both promotional reach and the credibility of an official data feed rather than relying on third-party market data.
Michele Ciccarese, marketing and commercial director of Lega Serie A, cited the United States as a key growth target for the Italian league. “Our exclusive alliance with Polymarket, as Regional Partner in the USA, lets us engage a new generation of fans through a platform that embodies emerging trends,” Ciccarese said. “It delivers an interactive, real-time product rooted in insights and participation perfectly aligned with their expectations.”
Polymarket’s president of sports business development, Ari Borod, said the company’s focus on the U.S. market specifically was a deliberate strategic choice. Borod joined Polymarket in February 2026 after previously serving as chief business officer at Fanatics. His stated goal is to position Polymarket as the official exchange for traders in the United States across major sports leagues and events.
What It Means for the Prediction Market Industry
The flurry of sports league partnerships for Polymarket reflects a broader strategy of legitimizing prediction markets through official data and branding relationships. By securing exclusive agreements with MLS, La Liga, and now Serie A within a single calendar year, the platform is building a formal infrastructure that traditional sportsbooks and regulated gaming operators are watching closely.
Critics of prediction markets, including several state attorneys general and lawmakers at the federal level, have argued that platforms like Polymarket and Kalshi are effectively operating unregulated sportsbooks dressed in the language of financial derivatives. The official sports league partnerships are likely to factor into that ongoing debate, as they raise questions about how regulators should treat platforms that have formal arrangements with professional sports organizations.
The CFTC, which oversees prediction markets as derivatives contracts, has been in active discussions with major U.S. sports leagues to expand data-sharing and oversight arrangements. That regulatory backdrop gives league partnerships additional significance beyond marketing, as they potentially draw sports organizations deeper into the oversight framework surrounding prediction market contracts tied to their games.
Broader Momentum for Polymarket
Polymarket has been among the most aggressive prediction market operators in pursuing both sports league agreements and platform growth in 2026. The platform, which operates globally and allows users to trade on outcomes of political, economic, and sports events, has seen significant volume growth as prediction markets have entered mainstream awareness in the United States.
For Serie A, the deal is part of a push to build an American audience for Italian soccer in an increasingly crowded sports media landscape. The league’s U.S. presence has grown in recent years through television deals and digital outreach, and a partnership with a rapidly expanding American financial platform provides a new channel for fan engagement that aligns with the interests of younger, digitally active audiences.
The Polymarket platform currently offers markets on a wide range of sports, political, and financial outcomes, with each contract priced between zero and 100 cents representing implied probability. The Serie A integration will add official league data backing to Italian soccer markets, potentially attracting traders who want the reliability of verified statistics in their positions.
