This week the Sports Betting community will have two star-studded events to choose from this weekend. The MIT Sloan Analytics Conference is being held in the Boston Convention and Exposition Center March 6 and 7. This gathering brings together the leaders in sports business, technology and analytics. Sports betting will be a prevalent part of the conversation.
There are many Philly connections scheduled to attend: Michael Rubin, the Executive Chairman of Fanatics, Scott O’Neil, CEO of Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment, Josh Harris, Owner of the Sixers, Catherine Carlsson, SVP Revenue & Strategy for Philadelphia Eagles, and Mike Shane, Chief Business Officer for Comcast Spectacor. ESPN is a sponsor and will have a large contingent of studio personalities and sports writers attending.
What makes this conference so important is the importance of analytics today in developing a winning culture at sports organizations. This transcends from the players to the fans. While winning is the most powerful attraction a team can have, the level of engagement the team have with the season ticketholders and the fans that watch on television is equally important. The MIT Sloan Analytics Conference will broaden your prospective.
In Atlantic City, the Maxwell Award Gala will take place at the Atlantic City Tropicana Hotel and Casino. The Maxwell Club highlights the top player in the college and professional ranks. Joe Burrow of the National Champion LSU Tigers Football team and Lamar Jackson of the NFL Baltimore Ravens will be honored.
Prior to the Award Ceremony in the evening, Seventy-Six Capital will host a Sports Innovation Meetup that will focus on the business of sports betting. The panel is entitled Marketing in the New Era of Sports Betting. The participants include Sharon Otterman from William Hill, Josh Appelbaum from VSIN and Aubrey Levy representing The Score. Jess David will serve as moderator.
Seventy -Six Capital has made appearances at the CES in Las Vegas and at the Super Bowl in Miami. There are many facets of sports related business and technology that they are involved in. I plan to attend this event and share tweets on Twitter — follow me on here.
