I decided to attend the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas to educate myself about the new innovations that involve esports and sports betting. The CES is a global trade show that gives a preview of the new products that the major tech companies are planning for 2020. The number of attendees is expected to reach over 175,000 people. Rooms rates are astronomical. You must allow at least 1 hour to get from one hotel to the next on the strip if you are using a taxi.
Most of you are wondering about the connection between the tech world and sports. Many of the companies are looking at sports betting and esports as new frontiers to generate revenue. The brand associations and strategic partnerships that occur when tech meets gaming have tremendous possibilities. These opportunities involve wearables that provide information, analytics that track performance and virtual reality devices.
The conference starts on January 7 and ends on the 10th. There is a touch of Philly at this show. It is provided by SeventySix Capital. The VSIN Network will be on full display with a network event on January 8th. It will be held at South Point Casino. I plan to attend this event and provide coverage for Bettors Insider.
