It was a tough Week 10 for our college football best bets. Penn State had tons of opportunities to cover the spread against Ohio State, but James Franklin failed to get the job done once again in a big game.

Michigan State got trounced by Indiana to put our article plays at 0-2 on Saturday. Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers look to be the real deal, and the Buckeyes better not take them lightly here in a few weeks. Anyway, let's shake off the tough weekend and move on.

Best Bet: Kansas +3.5 (-121) (BetRivers)

ISU at KU: 3:30 PM EST

This is a strange line, and it stinks to high heaven! Why is the No. 17 team in the country only laying three points to a 2-6 Kansas squad? Maybe it's because the Cyclones suffered their first loss of the year in heartbreaking fashion to Texas Tech last week.

I love that we're getting a home underdog here that's one of the best teams in the nation at running the ball. Kansas ranks 11th in the country by averaging 5.5 yards per rush. That should play well against an Iowa State defense that allows 5 yards per rush (104th).

Lastly, I love betting on teams coming off a bye week. The Jayhawks should be well rested after having last weekend off, so running back Devin Neal should have fresh legs for this conference showdown. Give me the home dog! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

Best Bet: Colorado -3.5 (-105) (FanDuel)

CO at TT: 4:00 PM EST

Here's another case where I don't think the oddsmakers are properly quantifying how much a bye is worth to a team. Colorado should be chomping at the bit to get back in action after having last Saturday off. I'm sure Heisman hopeful Travis Hunter was definitely grateful to get some much-needed rest after playing both offense and defense each week.

I get that Lubbock is a tough place to play, but Texas Tech expended a ton of emotional energy in their upset win over Iowa State in Ames last weekend. It wouldn't surprise me if the Red Raiders came out a little flat in this one.

The Buffaloes should have several matchup advantages when they have the football. Colorado ranks 29th in yards per pass, which should serve them quite well against a Texas Tech squad that ranks 100th in yards per pass allowed. Look for Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter to both go off in this one. Let's lay the road chalk!

Best Bet: South Carolina -3 (-120)

SC at VU: 4:15 PM EST

I'm buying the hook on this one since this game total is pretty low at just 46 or so. It kills me to fade Diego Pavia and this gritty Vandy team, but I have to trust my numbers. My power ratings make the Gamecocks a seven-point favorite in this matchup when adjusting for strength of schedule.

South Carolina has played the 2nd hardest schedule in the country, according to Sagarin. Vanderbilt has played the 30th toughest. South Carolina also needs one more win to reach bowl eligibility and this is one of their best opportunities to do that.

There's also an interesting angle that I like to play with this game. Why is an unranked team laying points on the road to a ranked team? It's enough to make you "Hmmm!". Let's lay the points with Cocky and look for LaNorris Sellers to keep improving!
