Without further ado, we give you the weekly college picks.

Three-team teaser:

LSU (+15.5) over Alabama, Minnesota (+15.5) over Penn State and Notre Dame (+1) over Duke

Just wanted to have something going on in the two games between unbeatens. I’m not sure what to make of LSU-Bama, because I hate going against the Sabans. It’s like going against the Belichicks. I just have a hard time believing the visitors can’t at least keep it within two touchdowns. But I’ve been wrong before. I feel the same way about Minny. So I’ll take my chances with both. And I don’t think Notre Dame will lose at Duke after almost losing at home to Virginia Tech coming off that bad loss at Michigan. I’m just not sure whether the Irish will cover. So there you go.

Kansas State (+7) over Texas

Again, not sure K-State will win in Austin. But the Wildcats have been playing really well lately, and the Horns haven’t. That can obviously change, maybe even in a hurry, but I think this is going to be a game. So I’ll take the points.

West Virginia-Texas Tech (under 58.5)

WVU is a slight favorite at home. I don’t think much of the Mountaineers’ offense. And I’m not sure how well TT’s offense is going to travel. So I’ll hope that this one doesn’t get into the 30s. Hope that’s not asking too much from two teams that really aren’t worth paying attention to. But that’s why they make lines, right?

Purdue-Northwestern (under 39)

This number keeps coming down. Northwestern has burned me a few times lately. The Wildcats have scored six points in their last three games. Purdue got me last week at home by beating Nebraska. It happens. But the Boilermakers have struggled to score too. So let’s hope it’s real cold, maybe even snowy, and maybe it turns into one of those first team to 14 wins. And I’m not usually an under kind of guy. Which scares me.

Wake Forest-Virginia Tech (under 61.5)

Dave Clawson doing great job at Wake. Now the Deacons are going on road, the week before they get Clemson. They can score, but I’m thinking this might play out a little differently. Wake is a slight fave, but I’m just thinking it might be a game that doesn’t get out of the 20s. Again, the weather might be on our side.

Boston College (-2.5) over Florida State

I almost can’t believe I’m doing this, because I’ve never been the biggest Steve Addazio fan, at least not in certain spots. He is a good frontrunner when he’s in a position to do so. And his Eagles have been playing better. I don’t know what to make of FSU. Maybe the Noles will be rejuvenated now that the coach is gone. I’m assuming they have more talent. But I’m going to take a shot that maybe things are just whatever enough in Tallahassee that the last thing they want to do is make a trip to Boston to play a team that might really want to beat them when they’re down.

May the dreaded replay review be with you. Be back soon with the pro stuff.
