What a horror show. First, Brown does the especially brutal “We’ll be horrendous in the first half, then tease you with a huge comeback, only to punch you in the face with a last-second loss,” complete with sloppy turnovers, an infinite amount of easy backdoor layups, questionable coaching, and announcers amazed by the fact that the game “started in the morning but ended in the afternoon.” Wo-ow…(eye roll) Then Pitt not only lays an egg in Boston, but the total ends one point away from the over. Brutal.

Duke Blue Devils at Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 7 pm Eastern
The Pick: Duke -220, bet $44 to win $20
This game, rescheduled from New Year’s Day due to COVID fun, might be Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski’s final game against Notre Dame Coach Mike Brey. Brey was K’s assistant with the Blue Devils for many years, as the program finally got over the hump and started winning championships. The two coaches go way back. Coach K ain’t losing his last game to Brey. The Blue Devils are 50+ spots ahead of the Irish in Pomeroy and will have a 12th-ranked adjusted offense going up against N.D.’s 110th ranked adjusted defense. They score ten more points per game and grab 5.6 more rebounds than Notre Dame. The Irish are 9-0 at home, and have a solid win against Kentucky this season…but Duke is learning that freshman A.J. Griffin is as potent an offensive weapon as future lottery pick Paolo Banchero. And again, Krzyzewski will not be holding anything back tonight.
