Today I am thankful for Mason Plumlee, whose performance last night helped me hit a small player prop parlay and avoid a winless evening. (sigh)
All jokes aside, I’m thankful to my editor for letting me write these columns, and I’m thankful to you who read them. Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday.

(Standing Caveat: The universe is chaotic. Life is unpredictable. Things happen. Like injuries. In following Seattle O’Sullivan’s betting advice, be advised that you should always monitor your bets during the day to make certain unforeseen things have not occurred which might change your wagering opinion. Thank you.)
Dayton Flyers vs. Miami Hurricanes, 12 noon Eastern
The Pick: Miami -250, bet $54.05 to win $20; Miami -5.5 (-113), bet $16.85 to win $15
Meeting in Kissimmee, Florida as part of something called the “ESPN Events Invitational,” Miami plays their fourth game in a row in their home state while Dayton is on the road. So, not quite a home game for the Hurricanes but not too far off. Miami averages 80 points per game while Dayton manages only 65.5. The Flyers are 0-6 against the spread in their last six games and just lost to Lipscomb and Austin Peay, who are ranked 200th and 294th in the Pomeroy rankings respectively. I’m going to risk a little more today to make up some ground as we leave the “meaningless tournament” part of the season. Eat the moneyline for your turkey dinner, lay the 5.5 for the pumpkin pie dessert.
