Time to take a look at Wednesday night’s college hoops possibilities. So let’s throw a few out there.

You know I like teasers, which eventually will catch up with you. But so far so good, so let’s try another. Or maybe even a couple.

Villanova is coming off a double-digit loss at home to Creighton. The Wildcats don’t make a habit of losing back-to-back games. But now they’re at Butler, a team they beat at home. Butler is favored by 2.5 points. The Wildcats have another big game this weekend at home against Seton Hall. I’m not saying they’re going to win, but I think moving the line up to +7.5 is a decent play. I’ll take my chances that they won’t lose two in a row by at least 8. And with them I’ll go against Temple at Memphis. The spread is 8. I don’t have a lot of confidence in the Owls right now, even though they’re coming off a home win and Memphis has been a disappointment. I’ll move that number to 3 and take Penny Hardaways Tigers. I just don’t think they’ll lose at home to Temple.

Mike's Teaser: Villanova +7.5 @Butler with Memphis -3 vs Temple.

And if you’d rather throw in Virginia laying only 1.5 to visiting Clemson instead of one of those two, I wouldn’t argue.

There are two other games I kind of like but might not get too carried away with. They’re Iowa getting 4 (and that went up a little) at Purdue, and Seton Hall giving 3 at Georgetown. Iowa is more of a hunch, since a little birdie suggested as much to me. Seton Hall is coming off a home loss, and I’m not sure how good G-town is. The line seems low. Hope the Hall is in a bad mood, and that the Pirates aren’t looking ahead to Nova next. So don’t go nuts. Just enough to keep you interested.

Oops, almost forgot. And this one is more of a lean. Creighton is getting 2 at Providence. The Bluejays just won at Villanova, and now have to come all the way back across country to play a Providence team that can be tough, especially up there. So the Friars might be worth a look, in what’s basically a pick-em situation. Merely saying.
