NCAAB: In Patriot League quarterfinals, Lehigh hosts Army
Patriot League Quarterfinals
Army +6 @ LEHIGH, 7 pm
Pick: Lehigh -6
The Patriot League is very underrated. However, they’ll get to be in the spotlight tonight with the conference quarterfinals taking place. One of the more intriguing matchups could be between (3) Lehigh versus (6) Army.
The Black Knights [13-18, 8-10] might not have the most impressive record. However, they’ve shown their able to hang with the top of conference. Matt Wilson had a near double-double with 21 PTS and 8 REB in a close loss to the co-conference champion Bucknell. The Black Knights have been 16-13-1 ATS on the season.
The Mountain Hawks [19-10, 12-6] have the 33rd best offense in the nation (80.3 PPG), but have struggled on defense (77.4 PPG). Lehigh has been successful in sharing the ball as four players are currently averaging over 13 PPG. The Mountain Hawks have been 17-12-0 ATS on the season.
This matchup has one x-factor and that is whether Army can stop the Lehigh offense. If the spread were closer to nine points, then I would pick Army. However, the fact that Army has only won twice in their past nine games isn’t very comforting. Not to mention, Lehigh does have recent tournament experience and are my pick to win the Patriot League.
