NCAAB: Point picking the Hoyas v Pirates game

Seton Hall is just 2-9 against the spread at The Rock this year
Published on

Georgetown (+4) at Seton Hall, 8:30
The Pick: Under 156 points

This Big East battle is a tough one to figure. I was leaning toward the home-team Pirates (14-9) until I came across the stat that Seton Hall is just 2-9 against the spread at The Rock this year.

The Pirates win at home and have done so in four of their last five home games, but asking them to cover is a different story. Add in the fact that Georgetown (15-9) is 5-2 against the spread on the road and I just couldn't recommend The Hall.

So why not take Patrick Ewing’s road-bound Hoyas? Because I only like the dog if I think they can win outright and I’m not sure they can.

Which leads us to the under bet in this one. In both teams last four games the total hasn’t reached this number. Seton Hall’s last two home games — wins over Creighton and Providence — totaled 121 and 128 respectively.

Expect this one to be a little higher than those, but still under the generous 156 line.
