NCAAB: Tuesday Teaser seeks Big 5 slugfest & Marquette revenge

St. Joseph’s +1.5 @ LA SALLE (138.5), 7 pm; St. John’s +6.5 @ MARQUETTE (154.5), 8 pm

St. Joseph’s +1.5 @ LA SALLE (138.5), 7 pm. Having seen both of these teams play on numerous occasions, they’re way too unpredictable to pick a winner. La Salle (6-14, 4-4) started out the season 0-10, but has won three in a row in conference after slowing down the tempo. St. Joe’s (10-12, 3-6) has struggled to find any kind of consistency and is desperate for a legit second scoring option behind Charlie Brown. Since we’re too chicken to pick a winner, we’re going to use our Teaser 5 to push the O/U to to 143.5, take the Under, hope no one goes off, and we get an old-fashioned Big 5 slugfest. St. John’s +6.5 @ MARQUETTE (154.5), 8 pm. Colgate played out of its mind last night and gave a thumping to a home Lehigh team that we didn’t see coming. The same could happen tonight with the Red Storm. Marquette (19-3, 8-1) has won 16 of its last 17 but that one loss was a 20-point hammering at St. John’s on New Year’s Day. Can history repeat? Of course. But the Red Storm (16-6, 4-5) started out 12-0 and 14-1 before losing five out of their last seven. The two wins were a sweep of Creighton (by 15 at home, 16 on the road). Do they also have Marquette’s number? I’m going to say no and take the Golden Eagles at -1.5.
Pick: St. Joseph’s @ LA SALLE Under 143.5 and MARQUETTE -1.5 Over St. John’s.
