NCAAB: Friday Teaser sees Ben’s NCAAB picks & raises his dogs five

Since there are so few games tonight, we’re going to take the same games Ben Geier picked here and have some fun with them -- see if we can both win -- and show the value of the Teaser. It’s really about where would you rather have your cushion. When Yale played Brown last week at Brown’s place, the Bears gave the Bulldogs all they could handle before dropping a close one. Yale is really tough at home in their old church-like building with fans so close to the sidelines they have to be warned to move back by the refs, but Brown is going to pull out all stops to get this one. With the line Brown +7 @ YALE, I could see Yale winning, but if I give Brown my teaser points they have to win by 13. That seems like a lot. I’m playing the same game with 14 Buffalo -8.5 @ KENT ST. These MAC teams have been beating each other up and although Buffalo is the superior squad, they just lost on the road to Northern Illinois, who lost by 10 to Kent St. Again, Buffalo should win the game but I’ll take the Golden Flashes +13.5 at home against almost anyone. Now watch them lose by 30. Yes, I could have teased in favor of the favorites and picked Yale -2 and Buffalo -3.5, but my calculation is that the odds of the underdog staying within double digits are better than the underdog pulling the upset.
