NCAAB: Thursday Teaser hopes Penn St. hangs close and Elon doesn’t

A lot of games tonight across the country but there’s only game with local ties we feel comfortable with.

Nebraska (11-4) has been a revelation this season but is coming off two road Big 10 losses to Iowa and Maryland. No disgrace. The Huskers haven’t lost at home this season and we don’t expect them to lose tonight, but we’re giving our 5 points to the Nittany Lions and hope they’ll stay within 15. For our sake and for the sake of Coach Pat Chambers’ blood pressure. We’re going to pair them up with Northeastern (-9.5) @ ELON 7 pm. Northeastern (7-8), has also dropped their last two league games and is way better than Elon (5-12). The Phoenix have lost four of their last five and all four losses have been by more than double digits to teams weaker than the Huskies. We’re going to movie Northeastern down to -4.5 and expect them to cover.

We don’t usually head south for too many picks but these look like low-hanging peaches. 14-2 Furman (-12.5) @ 6-9 VMI 7 pm and 4-11 Morehead St. @ 10-3 BELMONT (-14) 7:30 pm. Both of these games are mismatches if the teams play true to form and we hope they do.
