NCAAB: Sunday Teaser (winner)

We’re taking Cornell +8.5 and Fordham -2.

Niagara (4-4) is tough to figure. The Purple Eagles have decent wins against Wyoming and Pittsburgh on the road and terrible home losses to Grambling St. and St. Francis, NY. Cornell (4-4) is coming off a moral victory loss at Syracuse and should be able to hang with Niagara. The O/U is 145 here and we like the under . . . Howard (6-4) is coming off a tough loss at George Washington and now must travel to the Bronx for a match-up with Fordham (7-3), who have home wins against FIU, Columbia and Rutgers and no bad home loss. That should augur well for a game against the Bison. Stay away from the O/U in this one: Howard plays very fast. Fordham plays very slow. Hard to know who will be able to dictate tempo.

RESULT

That’s more like it. Cornell led through most of the second half and ended up not needing the +5, but you would have sweated out the 3-point, 77-74 loss. This way you had a little cushion. Fordham would have pushed without the teaser +5 as the Rams beat the Bison 74-67.
