Happy Monday to all! It was a great weekend to be a sports fan, from some exciting college football games, NFL matchups, and of course, several great NBA contests.
The Cleveland Cavaliers staying perfect was the story of the weekend, but several other teams put together some convincing wins. It might be early in the season, but it feels like we already have a good idea of the top teams in each conference. Will these early indications continue? We’re going to tune into tonight’s action to see how it all plays out.
With that said, we’ve put together our favorite player props from tonight’s eight-game slate, hoping to sweep the board with these Underdog plays. Let’s get into it!
Tyrese Haliburton isn’t having his best season. After scoring over 20 points per game last year, Haliburton has regressed, putting up just 16.2 points per game.
His total assists per game is good for fourth-best in the league, but he’s still not performing as well as he did last season. With that in mind, we’re fading him against the Toronto Raptors tonight, a team that has historically shut him down.
He’s only averaging 14.5 points against them throughout his career, and we just aren’t confident in his abilities to have a big scoring night at the moment.
It’s no secret that the Milwaukee Bucks are struggling. This is a team that won the NBA Finals a few years back but now looks like one of the worst teams in the league.
They can’t seem to pull themselves together, and unless something changes soon, this could be one of their worst seasons as a franchise, and that’s with Giannis on the roster.
However, Brook Lopez has still provided a spark at times, especially from beyond the arc. We love his chances of hitting at least two three-pointers tonight, hopefully giving the Bucks enough production to pull out a much-needed win over the Houston Rockets. Veterans tend to come through in clutch situations, which is why we’re relying on Lopez.
We’ve taken the over on Karl-Anthony Towns for a few games in a row, and Underdog keeps raising his points, rebounds, and assists line.
We were happy to take the over when it was under 40, but 40.5 is too high against the Washington Wizards in our opinion. It’s not because the Wizards are a good team that will shut Towns down, but rather, we believe Towns will have limited work in the second half, limiting his effectiveness and overall numbers.
Look for Towns to have a slightly less effective night in the box score, going under his PRA total.
