This is the second road game to start the year for the Suns. Fortunately for them, they won’t have to go far to face the Lakers. Following their narrow overtime victory over the Clippers, Phoenix barely managed to pull out the win after some Kevin Durant heroics! The Lakers on the other hand, managed to beat the Timberwolves fairly convincingly on opening night. They’ll have the rest advantage coming into this game. We expect this game to be close, with the betting lines reflecting that.

Golden State is riding high after a blowout victory in Portland to start the season off! They showed they still have all the scoring talent they need to bury a team. Even with Curry having an average game, the bench pulled through big time to secure a massive lead to close the game out. Utah nearly knocked off Memphis in their season opener, losing by two at home. Markkanen led Utah with 35 points in this one, as Ja Morant picked up where he left off. Regardless, Utah doesn’t look like a pushover this year. They’ll have even the top teams in the West on their toes this year. This game should be interesting!

The Knicks found themselves on the wrong end of an elite Boston shooting night to start the season. Getting buried by nearly 60% team three-point shooting, the Knicks didn’t stand a chance against the air raid. It appears there may be some growing for the Knicks as they adjust to a new roster. However, if they can put things together, they still have a chance to be elite in the East. Indiana also struggled in their opener, fighting off the Pistons in a close game. They did manage to pull out a slim 6-point victory as both teams shot poorly from deep. This should be an excellent matchup for both teams. As India and New York both view themselves as contenders this year

Memphis managed to steal their first against Utah, with Santi Aldama being the night's surprise. He scored 27 points in his 31 minutes of playing time, beating out Morant and Banes to lead the team in scoring. With Jaren Jackson Jr already missing time, Aldama's surprise performance couldn’t have come at a better time. However, they’ll likely be facing an even stronger competitor in Houston. Even though Houston did drop their first game against the Hornets, they’re still dangerous. With one of the deepest rosters in the league, they had standout performances from both Sengun and Green. As this young team continues to come into form, they could be a tough matchup for Memphis.

Portland was killed in their home opener against the Warriors. The team couldn’t buy a bucket as they shot under 40% from the field. This young roster struggled to find any rhythm on the offensive end and found themselves consistently out paced in transitions. The Pelicans, on the other hand, somehow had an even worse season opener! Already losing Dejounte Murray, and Trey Murphy III to early season injuries. Even though they will be down two key players, they’re still a good matchup against a Portland team that will likely wind up with the worst record in the west again. However, early size, and a good shooting night could give Portland the edge.
