Atlanta Hawks at Orlando Magic, 7 pm Eastern

The Pick: Atlanta -6 (-109), bet $21.74 to win $20

Atlanta has been on a bit of a roll after a slow start to the season. They’ve gone 10-5 straight up and against the spread in their last 15 games. Against Orlando, they’ve won five of their last six, and gone 4-1 ATS in the last five. Hawks forward John Collins is still out, but the Magic frontcourt is banged up too. Promising center Moritz Wagner is dealing with a rib injury. I think Atlanta is rounding into form, and wants to go into the All-Star Break with a win. The Magic are last in the NBA against the spread as a home underdog, at 6-17, with an average margin of victory of -11.4. The Hawks win easily tonight.

Sacramento Kings at Chicago Bulls, 8 pm Eastern

The Pick: Chicago -5 (-114), bet $22.80 to win $20

The Chicago Bulls have been one of the biggest surprises in the league this year, in the hunt to get a top seed in the Eastern Conference. The Sacramento Kings have not been a surprise at all. The Bulls are 7-3 in their last ten games, 7-0 as a favorite. As a home favorite, they’re 16-7 through the entire season. The Bulls are seventh in scoring offense and the Kings are 28th in scoring defense. The Chicago surprise continues tonight.

Toronto Raptors at Minnesota Timberwolves, 8 pm Eastern

The Pick: Minnesota +1 (-112), bet $28 to win $25

Minnesota played a tough overtime game last night and star guard Anthony Edwards left with an ankle injury, but I’m still taking the Timberwolves tonight. Edwards is listed as day-to-day so he may not play, but Minnesota has won seven home games in a row. The Raptors have their own injury issues; Fred VanVleet is day-to-day as well with a knee injury that took him out of Toronto’s blowout loss to New Orleans. The Wolves still have Karl Anthony-Towns, who’s scoring 24.4 points and pulling down 9.7 rebounds per game. These teams are both seventh in their respective conferences, but I think the West is just a little better, so I do feel Minnesota is a little better than Toronto. Thus, them getting a point at home tips my thinking in their favor.

San Antonio Spurs at Oklahoma City Thunder, 8 pm Eastern

The Pick: Oklahoma City +7.5 (-110), bet $27.50 to win $25

This is strictly a “home dog” pick with faith in Oklahoma City. The Thunder are 14-8-3 against the spread as a home underdog this season, with an average margin of victory of -5 points, more than a point better than the corresponding spread. Losing by five tonight would be a clear cover, and I think the Thunder fight despite their lack of talent. San Antonio has been on the road for a week, this is the last game before the break, and the Spurs couldn’t be blamed for just wanting to get home. Oklahoma City may not win, but it’ll be a slog and when it’s a slog, take the points.
