Clearly, you’ve landed on this site to get info about the two big NBA games today, as there’s not much else going on in the world of sports. Well, don’t let my results last night deter you…One free throw in two games would’ve turned last night from a 1-4-1 debacle into a 3-2-1 positive performance…

Atlanta Hawks at Boston Celtics, 2 pm Eastern
The Pick: Atlanta +7.5 (-108), bet $16.20 to win $15
Atlanta comes into Boston this afternoon without forward John Collins and on the heels of a bad home loss to San Antonio, but I like them getting this many points in a nationally-televised game. The Hawks have beaten the Celtics in both of their matchups so far this season, and are 6-4 against the spread in their last ten. Both teams are fighting for playoff position, and in fact, may wind up playing each other in the play-in games come spring. Atlanta ranks eighth in scoring behind superstar Trae Young and will put up points. I think it’s a close enough battle that 7.5 points will cover.
Player Prop Parlay: Jayson Tatum 25+ points w/Trae Young 25+ points w/Tatum 1+ made threes w/Young 2+ made threes +161, bet $5 to win $8.06
Most of America will be watching this game as an appetizer to the Super Bowl, and both Tatum and Young will want to put on a show.
Minnesota Timberwolves at Indiana Pacers, 3 pm Eastern
The Pick: Minnesota -5.5 (-112), bet $20 to win $17.86; Minnesota -250, bet $20 to win $8
The game forecast headline on the ESPN app reads, “Indiana takes on Minnesota, aims to stop 5-game slide.” Do they, though? As I’ve said, the Pacers moves lately indicate that they recognize they’re not headed for the playoffs and are already in rebuilding mode. I think they “aim” to prepare for a better draft pick and the future. Minnesota, on the other hand, is fighting for playoff position, and right now they would be in the play-in games. They’ve also lost two in a row. So they’ll be aiming to win this afternoon in Indiana. The Timberwolves won five in a row before the recent slip and their offense on the road is the best in the NBA. I like them kicking off a strong week before the All-Star Break.
Player Prop: D’Angelo Russell under 19.5 points (-116), bet $7.50 to win $6.47
Russell averages 19 points per game but today faces new Pacer Tyrese Halliburton, who had three steals in his Indiana debut. I think Halliburton will make a point of harassing Russell today, keeping his scoring down.
