Charlotte Hornets at Chicago Bulls, 8 pm Eastern
The Pick: Chicago -220, bet $22 to win $10; Chicago -5.5 (-110), bet $5.50 to win $5
This is a real “Ball Game.” The two brothers, Lonzo and LaMelo, face off in a matchup between two teams with surprisingly good starts to the season. Chicago is 13-8 and while Charlotte is 13-9. The Bulls are coming off a tough loss to Miami, while the Hornets beat Houston - but in a tough overtime game on the road. The key to this game is the Bull’s defense, which is seventh in scoring average in the NBA. The older Ball brother plays tough defense, while the younger LaMelo still struggles in this area. I suspect Lonzo will have some motivation tonight to make sure his little brother doesn’t think he’s the best Ball in the league. Take the moneyline for dinner, lay the 5.5 for dessert.
Player Prop Parlay: Lonzo Ball over 4.5 assists w/LaMelo Ball 6+ assists +105, bet $5 to win $5.28
The two brothers, both known as distributors, will be in top form tonight with each looking to outshine the other.
Washington Wizards at San Antonio Spurs, 8:30 pm Eastern
The Pick: San Antonio +3 (-108), bet $10.80 to win $10; total under 215 (-109), bet $5.45 to win $5
Here’s a nice “home dog” situation. San Antonio are not the Spurs of old, for sure, but it does seem relevant that they are 20-0 against Washington in their last twenty at home against the Wizards. Washington will be playing their fourth game in a row on the road, and tonight they may very well be looking ahead to returning to D.C. The Wizards are also 4-7 against the spread on the road. Since it’s the end of a long road trip for Washington, and since both teams average fewer than 107 points per game, the under looks right too.
