Pick: Under 221.5

Sure enough, our hunch of more unders than overs last night with the NBA’s return out of the All-Star break was correct with five of six games on last night’s slate landing under the closing total. Tonight’s game at Madison Square Garden features a pair of teams likely sleepwalking to the end of the regular season. If you look at the standings out West you’ll see Minnesota just four games out of the final playoff spot. But the Timberwolves need to jump three teams to make the postseason and Minnesota has shown no indication of making such a rise. Many Timberwolves fans would probably tell you the season was over before it started thanks to the Jimmy Butler soap opera which ultimately led to Tom Thibodeau’s firing. It’s been a lost season for the Wolves and there are probably more changes coming when it’s over. None of this gets us that excited to lay points on the road with Minnesota, though, five isn’t enough to back the Knicks. So we’ll again look to tonight’s total and go under 221.5 with a Knicks team that had been scoring under 100 with regularity during its 18-game losing streak
