Sharp, analytics-driven MLB batter prop picks for today: Yordan Alvarez multi-hit vs. Luis Castillo, Pete Alonso and Cal Raleigh home run props with real matchup edges.

The board is loaded on this MLB slate, but three bats stand out above the noise. Yordan Alvarez is running a .317/.433/.604 season and gets a White Sox rotation that’s been bleeding runs all year. Pete Alonso is chasing his 33rd homer in a bandbox that’s treated him kindly all season. And Cal Raleigh, still the game’s premier power-hitting catcher, draws an Athletics staff that has no answer for anyone in the middle of a lineup.

These are analytics-driven plays built on volume, park factors, and matchup data — not gut feel. Here’s the breakdown on all three, plus how to build them into a same-day card.

Yordan Alvarez Over 1.5 Hits vs. Luis Castillo

Alvarez is having one of the best offensive seasons in baseball at .317/.433/.604 with 157 hits in 138 games and 37 home runs, and the multi-hit prop at +188 is the play here. He’s racking up hits at a 1.13-per-game clip on the year, and Houston’s DH has been locked in against right-handed pitching all summer.

The matchup tilts heavily in his favor. Luis Castillo is 4-10 with a 5.31 ERA on the season, and his last three starts have been even uglier — a 5.46 ERA with opposing hitters running a .333-plus clip against him. Castillo’s fastball velocity has ticked down from his peak years, and Alvarez has feasted on diminished-stuff righties all season. At Daikin Park, where the roof and hitting environment favor lefty power, the volume case for multiple hits is strong even before accounting for how hittable Castillo has been lately.

Pete Alonso to Go Deep at Camden Yards

Alonso sits at 32 home runs on the season, having gone deep in roughly 22% of his games played — one of the best home run rates among first basemen in baseball. At +285 for a homer against the Red Sox, the number is worth a look given how his profile has trended at home.

Camden Yards’ dimensions have played favorably for Alonso’s pull-heavy, fly-ball approach, and Boston’s pitching staff has allowed its share of hard contact to the middle of opposing lineups down the stretch. Alonso’s exit velocity and barrel rate remain elite by league standards, and a right-handed slugger with his kind of raw power only needs one mistake pitch to cash a +285 ticket. The volume of contact he’s making — 32 homers already logged — makes betting against a repeat performance on any given night the tougher position.

Cal Raleigh’s Power Still Has Real Juice vs. Athletics

Raleigh has 20 home runs in 105 games this season, a rate that puts him in the 17% range for going deep on any given night, and the Athletics present one of the softer pitching matchups left on the schedule. At +300 for a home run at T-Mobile Park, the price still reflects real value against a staff that has struggled to keep the ball in the yard all year.

Raleigh remains the standard for offensive production at catcher, and the switch-hitting profile means he can attack from either side depending on who’s on the mound. T-Mobile Park has played neutral-to-favorable for right-center power all season, and against an Athletics pitching staff without a true stopper, the swing-and-miss and hard-contact numbers both point toward another multi-homer threat game for Seattle’s backstop.

Today’s Edge

All three of these plays lean on the same idea: bet the hitter who’s already proven the volume, and let the matchup do the rest. Bettors looking for more angles like this should check the latest DraftKings promo code before locking in a card.

  • Yordan Alvarez OVER 1.5 Hits (+188)
  • Pete Alonso Home Run (+285)
  • Cal Raleigh Home Run (+300)

Three different profiles, one common thread — volume backed by real matchup edges. Build them straight or mix into a parlay for a bigger multiplier.
