I don't know how our wager on Houston turned out yet for Tuesday, but I have no problem backing them again at this price. Laying only -125 with the Astros seems like a great deal, especially since I have them as the 6th best team in baseball.
Ronel Blanco's walk rate scares me a bit, but he has the potential to dominate this light-hitting Rays team. Even though Blanco can get wild at times, he still sports a 35.7% K-rate against Tampa Bay for his career. The Rays have an expected weighted on base average of just .299 against Blanco, so I doubt they score more than 2 runs against him.
Houston has a massive offensive edge in this contest. The 'Stros rank 8th against righties this season, while the Rays check in at just 22nd against righties. I also prefer Houston's bullpen over Tampa's. Lay the small number!

I'm personally using BetMGM's very generous 33% Odds Boost Token on this play. Feel free to use that promo how you see fit. Taking an Under 3.5 strikeouts prop is scary, but Taillon is anything but a strikeout pitcher.
For the season, Taillon is only striking out 18.9% of hitters, which only puts him in the 21st percentile of MLB. His median K number for 2024 is 4, but that has to be adjusted down because of this matchup against Cleveland.
Speaking of Cleveland, this squad puts the ball in play incredibly well against right-handers. Seven of the Guardians starters strike out less than 20% of the time and there's really only one true K-target in this lineup (Bo Naylor). Give me the Under!

We've made a small fortune by riding this Astros team to NOT strike out a lot. Let's stick to that logic once again tonight by fading Zack Littel, who has a career K-rate of only 16.2% against this Houston roster.
Littel has decent stuff, but he's never overpowering. The veteran righty mainly makes his living by not walking many batters. Littel ranks just 28th in whiff rate, so I don't see him racking up many Ks against the 'Stros.
Six Houston hitters have strikeout rates below 18%. Even if Littel gets into the 6th inning, he'll have a hard time finding 5 strikeouts. Let's ride the Under to the promise land!
