It was a fantastic week last week for the home team, as our MLB selections finished up at 11-5. Our player props have caught fire of late and we even bagged a nice series win at +175 when the Red Sox took down the Yanks.

That brings the yearly record to 151-114, which we are obviously excited about. That being said, please continue to practice responsible money management. Never ramp up your bet sizes, because all that does is increase your risk of ruin long-term.

Christian Scott Over 4.5 Ks (-125)

NYM at PIT : 12:35 PM EDT

I'm pretty high on Christian Scott, and I think we're getting a nice price on this Over. Sure, I get that his median K number is just 4 this season. However, you have to remember that this young fella has only started 6 MLB games in his young career.

None of these Pirate hitters have seen Scott, and I think that helps our case for the Over in this early afternoon tilt. Pittsburgh has struggled all year long to make contact against righties. Five hitters in the Pirates lineup have strikeout rates above 24%.

Guys like Oneil Cruz and Jack Suwinski have been especially strikeout prone, as they have K-rates of 32.7% and 29.4%, respectively. It wouldn't surprise me if Scott gets 3 or 4 strikeouts when facing just these two hitters.

Digging further into Scott, we see that he has a 94 mph fastball that looks more like 99 mph because of his excellent extension. The 25-year-old also has some good bite on his sweeper and slider. He also doesn't walk many batters. Let's enjoy this Over with a nice cup of early afternoon java!
