Severino is finally healthy and the switch from the Yanks to the Mets seems to have rejuvenated his career. While most of the focus in this game will be on Pirates rookie phenom Paul Skenes, I think Sevy should have plenty of success against this subpar Pittsburgh lineup.
Though Severino's K-rate has been kind of disappointing (18.5%), his chase rate suggests that more strikeouts should be on the horizon. The 30-year-old still hits 96 on the gun with both his fastball and his sinker. His changeup and sweeper aren't too bad either.
Pittsbugh has a lineup full of youngsters that love to go fishing at times at the plate. The Pirates have 5 hitters with K-rates of at least 24%. Give me the Over to get this party started!

Freeland has missed a lot of this season with injuries, as he's only made 6 starts for the Rockies. Those outings have not gone in his favor, as his ERA is sitting at a bloated 7.94! That tells me that Kansas City could knock Freeland out of this game early.

I get that Suarez is still getting used to being a starter, but this line is a shade too low. The 34-year-old journeyman has a lively fastball and a changeup that's one of the best in the AL. Suarez faced Oakland earlier this season and he struck out 6.
Speaking of the A's, they've been battling the strikeout bug all year long against righties. Oakland has 5 hitters that strike out at least 25% of the time. Zack Gelof and Brent Rooker have K-rates of 36% and 33.7%, respectively.
Baltimore is a huge favorite in this game, which means that Suarez should be pitching with a lead for at least some of his outing. I look for him to aggressively attack these A's hitters. Give me the Over!
