It was a tough week last week for our MLB player props. After starting off the week with a nice 3-2 Tuesday, we proceeded to go just 5-8 the rest of the way. As painful as that was, we're still sitting pretty at 124-92 on the season.

Five of our losses last week were by the dreaded hook, but that is to be expected when playing strikeout props. Anyway, a new week is here and we're ready to get back to stacking some profits. Best of luck with all of your Monday action, sports betting family!

Cristopher Sanchez Under 4.5 Ks (-164)

SD at PHI - 6:40 EST

I'm breaking my juice rule with this one, but I think it's worth it. Sanchez has burned a few Over tickets for us this season, mainly because his stuff just hasn't been as dominant. The young lefty's K-rate of only 20.3% puts him in just the 35th percentile in MLB.

Sanchez's velocity is still pretty good, but he's throwing his sinker more this year to get more ground balls. While that isn't a bad strategy, it has hurt his strikeout rate tremendously. His changeup is still borderline elite, but his slider doesn't have as much break as it did a year ago.

Sanchez gets a tough matchup, especially strikeout-wise, against the Padres tonight. San Diego has one of the lowest K-rates in all of baseball against southpaws. The Pads have 6 everyday players with strikeout rates below 17.3%. Let's take the Under to get this party started!

Paul Skenes Over 7.5 Ks (-150)

CIN at PIT - 6:40 EST

I haven't played a prop on Paul Skenes yet and it's high time for me to get on that bus. To say this kid has lived up to the hype would be a gross understatement. Skenes hits 100 mph on the gun with relative ease and I'm betting he mows down this Cincy lineup tonight in Pittsburgh.

The Reds have looked more disciplined at the plate lately, but none of them have faced Skenes yet. They're going to be in for a rude awakening, especially if Skenes has his 94 mph splitter working. The 22-year-old's K-rate of 35.4% ranks in the 97th percentile.

Cincy has 4 players with K-rates over 24%. Skenes should have no problem racking up at least 8 Ks in this one. I can't wait to tune in for this game!

Braves F5 -0.5 (-139 at BetMGM)

DET at ATL - 7:20 EST

Need a play to use for the fabulous BetMGM Monday promo? This is the route that I'm going! Every Monday, BetMGM gives each client a Bet Insurance Token of up to $20 to use on MLB games. Here's a brief description on how it works.

Opt into to the promo on their website or app and find the game or player you want to bet on. Make sure that you click the ADD PROMO button to use the token. If your wager loses, BetMGM will give you a Bonus Bet to make up for the loss. How nice is that?

Anyway, let's get back to our First 5 innings selection on Atlanta. The Bravos bats finally came to life over the weekend, as they hit 9 homers in their 3-game series against the Rays. Austin Riley hit 3 bombs and Marcell Ozuna and Jarred Kelenic smacked 2 apiece.

I'm betting that the Braves will keep up that offensive momentum against Reese Olson. The young righty has given up 12 earned runs over his last 2 starts, and that won't bode well against a Braves lineup that's starting to finally heat up.

Also, Atlanta gets the privilege of giving Max Fried the ball tonight. He was touched up by Baltimore for 4 runs in his last start, but he's still only given up 7 earned runs over his last 4 outings. Look for Fried to dominate a relatively weak Detroit lineup tonight in the ATL. Go Braves!
