Back from an extended vacation and feel refreshed! Ready to end this season with some strong picks. Gotta keep a close watch on these trades as they can totally mess up the BKPM™ (Batmans’ Strikeout Predictor Machine) but I’m happy to report that baseball is fun again.
On to the picks…
Reds @ Cubs, 8:05 pm ET
The Reds’ Tyler Mahle is the man to watch tonight – while he has been getting 6-8 strikeouts a game since the “big sticky adjustment” this season, against these Cubs I think he can get closer to 9-10. Lucky for us, the bookies don’t think so and have set the over/under to 6.5. I’ll take the over 6.5 and -104 from the folks at FanDuel.
White Sox @ Royals, 8:10 pm ET
Lucas Giolito takes the mound for the White Sox. He’s been a wee bit difficult to project lately – going from 9K efforts down to 1K – so why take the risk? Because I really like this matchup. The BKPM™ has Giolito getting 8-9 strikeouts tonight and the good people at BetMGM are offering +120 on the over 6.5 – so how can I resist that??
Dodgers @ Giants, 9:45 pm ET
The Dodgers have Walker Buehler pitching tonight against an over-performing Giants team. Seriously, looking at the Giants I am shocked they are where they are and expected them to fall a while ago. In any case, we aren’t here to pick wins and losses. On the strikeout side, I expect Buehler to max out at 7, probably closer to 6 on the K side. As such, I’m going with the under 7.5 at -156 as offered up by FanDuel.
See you tomorrow, same Bat-time, same Bat-place!
