Hope you all enjoyed the All-Star break. Personally, I enjoyed the home run derby, but the game was … meh. It certainly wasn’t helped by the ugly uniforms. Please go back to the tradition of wearing the player team unis!
Unfortunately, it appears COVID enjoyed the break as much as anything else, and both the Phillies and Yankees lost important players for some time. Shouldn’t impact our K picks, so here we go…
Brewers @ Reds, 7:10 pm ET
The Brewers’ Tyler Mahle is the man to watch tonight – the K-Machine (patent pending) likes this home matchup and thinks Mahle will rebound from his 6K start last time out in Milwaukee and instead serve up something closer to his 12K outing the time before. I think I’ll have to tweak things a bit, because 9-10 seems about right. I’ll take the over 7.5 and +125 over at FanDuel.
Rays @ Braves, 7:20 pm ET
Charlie Morton takes the mound for the Braves tonight. According to my projections, he could be in line for an 6-7 strikeout game, but my long time readers know that I’ve had a tough time picking him in the past. Still, gotta go with my gut here. I’ll take the under 7.5 and +105 from DraftKings.
Dodgers @ Rockies, 8:40 pm ET
The Dodgers have Julio Urias pitching in mile-high, and for his sake I hope he’s spent a few days to get acclimated. We know that away pitchers have a hard time, which is probably why the over/under is set at 5.5. Given the break and his track record, I’m going with the over 5.5 strikeouts and +120 on FanDuel.
Going away for a week so I’m not sure if I’ll be posting, but feel free to hit me up on Twitter with any questions! Batman out!
