Not a great day of matchups today, but when the Bat-signal is in the sky, you have to respond.

Indians @ Royals, 8:10 pm ET

Aaron Civale is not a strikeout pitcher, but he’s had a hot start with a shiny 4-0 record. The line is set at 4.5. In 3 of his 5 starts this year he has had 6 K, the other two only 4. So, which do we put the money on? I’m going to go with the over because it’s against the Royals. I also like that I can get +102 over at FanDuel. I wouldn’t bet the house, but maybe a tiny home… or a shed?

Rays @ Angels, 9:38 pm ET

In past years I would have picked Jose Quintana for this game, but he’s been a total unpredictable mess this season. 3 innings, 1 inning, 5 innings, 3 innings again… stay away! Instead, let’s look at Tyler Glasnow. He’s struck out 10 in his last two outings and has 56 K over 37.2 innings. That’s what I like to see. My friends at BetRivers are offering +130 for over 7.5 and I’ll take it.

Pirates @ Padres, 10:10 pm ET

Tyler Anderson is your proto-typical K/inning kinda guy, so once again we play the game of ‘HOW LONG WILL HE GO?’ Against San Diego the answer is usually ‘NOT LONG!’ Anderson actually already faced the Padres once at home, went 5… and only struck out 2. On the road, given that history, I can’t imagine he can go over the 5.5 line set. Take the under – best line I’m seeing is BetMGM at -118.

Come back again — same bat-channel — Batman out!
