The Skinny:
This has been a back and forth series, and with Yu Darvish on the mound for the home team, I see Chicago taking Game 3. The Cubs are 4-0 in Darvish’s last four starts following a team loss in their previous game and 12-3 in their last 15 when their opponent allows two runs or less in their previous game. . . . The dumpster is still flaming for the Mets, and the man who started the fire is on the mound. Jason Vargas might not be the medicine for the Mets during this tough stretch, either. The Mets are 3-10 in Vargas' last 13 starts when their opponent allows five runs or more in their previous game and 1-4 in Vargas' last five starts with four days of rest. The flame burns on. . . . Okay, stick with me here. Sure, Chris Sale is borderline unstoppable. But the White Sox have had success when they get to an opponent's bullpen, and Reynaldo Lopez can keep it close until then. Can you hear me talking myself into this one? . . . Pretty easy pick here with Mike Minor on the hill. The Rangers are 4-0 in Minors last four starts, 5-1 in Minors last six starts after scoring five runs or more in their previous game, 4-1 in his last five starts vs. American League Central and 4-1 in his last five Wednesday starts.
